Another year has passed and I'm wondering (again) where the time has gone. Just yesterday you were being born and the nurse put you in my arms to hold for the first time. It really doesn't seem possible that 9 years have passed.Tonight, you asked me if I was going to write you another letter, like I do every year. The answer is yes. But this year, Happihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03657269510484517445noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940666623432906769.post-16409970623892714152010-12-12T13:46:00.001-08:002010-12-12T14:01:10.296-08:00Happenings...Hello, I'm here. I just don't get to update my blog very often! I had a few pictures to share, so here goes! Since my last update, I celebrated being thirty-something with a bunch of close friends who totally surprised me. My dear friend made me a cake out of Starbursts, my favorite candy. Isn't it beautiful? Who knew you could melt Starbursts and create a fondant out of it? We have some wonderful friends who invited us to spend the week with them at their cabin in Tennessee, and so the boys and I set out on a great adventure last week. As the events of that morning began to unfold and it was clear that this was not just an accident, my thoughts turned - no, sprinted - to my sister who was living in NYC at the time. In it, we would tour the country and make our living together as a family entertaining people and sharing the gospel wherever we went. We got together with our neighbors over the holiday weekend and all of us were remembering how cold it was and how desperately we all wanted this warm weather to come. It's finally here! I had "power shopping" to do, where I stock up for a couple weeks on groceries so that I don't have to go out again for a while. I have been a fan since I was a little girl, even before I understood the game of football. My parents and grandparents have passed their love of the Huskers on to me (and my sisters) and now I have the joy of passing on that love to my boys. One of the ways we can do that is by attending the spring game every year, thanks to Happihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03657269510484517445noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4940666623432906769.post-72816298073496299752010-04-04T17:07:00.000-07:002010-04-04T17:25:01.078-07:00Happy Easter, Mama! This post is dedicated to my mom. We have this neat piece of fabric that hangs on our wall with a cross stitched to it. It has eight buttons on it, and each day we hang a fabric egg on one of the buttons. Each of the eggs is a different color, and there are little things sewn on each of them. Now, you have to know that I don't have a very good memory and I really thought this would be difficult. But when I sat down and began to write, the memories came flooding back quickly and easily. He chose to go to Monkey Joe's. If you aren't familiar with this place, it's a big room with lots of inflatable bouncy houses. It's hard to keep track of the kids in there because the inflatables are huge, but they keep the kids pretty well enclosed and put someone at the door to minimize any "runaways." I still can't believe how many details I remember about your birth. You have always had a "warrior" kind of a spirit (which is what Caden means) and I admire your strength and your sweetness. I try to read every book I can get my hands on about the subject, but I do have days when I just do not understand the male species.
